FAQs
Do I need to sign up for ongoing Home Stewardship?
Not at all. There are no subscriptions or one-size-fits-all service packages. Every relationship is tailored to the homeowner and the needs of their home.
Can we start with just one project?
Absolutely! Whether it's a repair, an improvement, or a focused remodel, we're happy to take on individual projects. It's a wonderful way to get acquainted, and usually marks the beginning of a lasting relationship.
Do you work with my existing contractors or trades?
Usually, no. As the general contractor, Black Sheep is responsible for the work being performed, which means we need to work with trades and subcontractors whose insurance, qualifications, and working practices we know and trust.
We’re happy to collaborate with your existing architect, interior designer, landscape professional, or other design consultant. But when it comes to the construction team itself, Black Sheep assembles and manages the trades involved.
Do you offer emergency services? Do you do insurance work?
Generally, no. Black Sheep is not a 24-hour emergency service or restoration contractor, and we do not work for or report to insurance companies.
For established Home Stewardship clients, we help make sure you know who to call when something urgent happens. Once the immediate issue is under control, Black Sheep may also assist with the repair or finish work that follows, working directly for you rather than the insurer.
What if my project is larger than Black Sheep typically takes on — or what I need doesn’t fit neatly into your services?
Ask us! Black Sheep is intentionally built around Home Stewardship, repairs, improvements, and focused remodels, and we’re careful about taking on larger projects that could pull us away from the responsiveness our ongoing clients rely on.
If something falls outside our lane, we’ll be straightforward about it — and when possible, help point you toward the right resource.
